El Salvador loses millions to illegal alcohol sales

The Salvadoran government loses some $18 million in taxes each year to illegal alcoholic beverage imports, according to Euromonitor International.

Illegal products account for 23 percent of El Salvador's alcoholic drinks market.

Sales of those products reach nearly $64 million each year.
