El Salvador must upgrade fight against hunger

One of El Salvador's main challenges is to create policies against hunger, said Graziano Da Silva, general director of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, FAO.

It is impossible to guarantee the continuity of programs against hunger until they are institutionalized, as they risk being lost when a new government takes office.

The FAO is working in 16 countries, mainly in Central America and the Caribbean, where it promotes the creation of school food programs and buying food from small local producers.
