El Salvador plans to open trade office in China

El Salvador is studying the possibility of opening a trade office in China, said the Salvadoran foreign minister, Hugo Martínez.

Since El Salvador has diplomatic relations with Taiwan, contact with China was made through Costa Rica, which broke relations with Taiwan in 2007.

The goal of the trade office is to improve economic promotion between the two countries, as well as attracting more foreign investment for El Salvador.
