El Salvador postpones Petrocaribe deal

El Salvador has postponed applying the Venezuela-led oil group Petrocaribe agreement.

Oil can now be purchased anywhere in the world at a relatively low price without the need of a specific agreement with Venezuela.

"We have decided to wait in terms of the oil agreement with Petrocaribe. The government currently sees no added benefits," said Tharsis Salomón López, head of the Salvadoran Economy Ministry.
