El Salvador prepares new tax on coffee growers

The government is planning reforms to the law that governs the Salvadoran Coffee Council, and one of the proposals is a new levy on production.
Coffee growers say that they face one of the worst crises in the industry’s history, thanks to coffee rust and a lack of financial support.
