El Salvador receives more remittances
Remittances from the United States to El Salvador grew 3 percent year-on-year in May this year, said the Central Reserve Bank.
The figure represents a total of $358 million, compared to the $348 million the country received during the same period last year.
The bank said the increase in remittances stems from a drop in unemployment in the hispanic community living in the United States.
