El Salvador records trade deficit of $3.18 billion January through August, an increase of 25 percent in annual terms

El Salvador recorded a trade deficit of $3.18 billion in the first eight months of the year, almost 25 percent more than in the same period of last year.

January through August, El Salvador earned $3.67 billion in exports, up from $3.01 billion a year earlier, an increase of 22 percent.

Imports cane to $6.85 billion, up from $5.55 billion in the same period of 2010.
