El Salvador remittances rebound to $1.8 billion

Remittances to El Salvador reached $1.78 billion in the first half of this year, a 2.5 percent increase on the same period of 2009.
 
Salvadoran emigrants, mainly those who live in the United States, sent their relatives $301 million in June, an increase of $5.2 million on the same month of last year.
 
The central bank forecast an “upwards tendency” of remittances for the sond half of this year.
