Construction companies in El Salvador, one of the sectors worst hit by the economic crisis, are beginning to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.
Private construction firms are showing recovery, though public-sector investment remains almost paralyzed. The government’s Casa para
Todos affordable housing program is a dead letter.
Mortgage lending by banks is also beginning to reflect the improvement in construction.
