El Salvador’s Mauricio Funes announces measures to soften blow of rising prices

President Mauricio Funes of El Salvador announced a series of measures to combat rising prices in El Salvador.

They include an increase in the minimum wage, cuts in fuel costs and loans for farmers.

“I want the government to share in the sacrifices that people are enduring in their homes,” Funes said in a nationwide broadcast.
