El Salvador sells $800 million bonds on Wall Street

The government of El Salvador sold $800 million in dollar bonds at the New York Stock Exchange.
El Salvador hired Citigroup Inc. and Deutsche Bank AG to sell the debt, which initially was for $500 million.
During negotiations, the offers reached $5.2 billion, a sign that investors trust the country to repay its debts, said the country's treasury.
