El Salvador to pour $500 million into solar, wind and photovoltaic energy

El Salvador's Comision Ejecutiva Hidroelectrica del Rio Lempa (CEL) is to invest roughly $500 million to develop the country's renewable power industry.
The state-owned company’s plans various projects to expand solar, wind and photovoltaic energy resources.
The company's first undertaking will be a 42 megawatt wind farm in Metapan in western El Salvador which will cost $80 million.
