El Salvador top for economic freedom in Central America, says Heritage Foundation

El Salvador has the freest economy in Central America and the 39th in the world, according to the Index of Economic Freedom drawn up by the Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal.
Costa Rica improved its position thanks to efforts by making its economy more competitive. But red tape continues to be a problem.
The rest of the countries of the region came in the following order: Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras.
