Electric cars power up in Costa Rica

Charging stations, called electrolineras, are being used for electric vehicles in Costa Rica, or at least in the San Juan metropolitan area.

Electricity costs about half as much as gasoline but the cars can still be used only in urban areas until the move to electricity for cars gains momentum.
