End of the world spells good business for Mayas

For Mexico and Guatemala, 2012 represents the start of a tourism boom, specially in December, when according to Mayan prophecy the world is expected to end.
Mexico will receive most tourists in the Yucatan peninsula, in the south of the country. Guatemala is making efforts to increase tourists, as it recently has been the scene of Mexican drug cartel violence.
Despite Guatemala's efforts, most tourists are expected to visit Mexico, due to the amount of investment in campaigns by the Mexican government.
