Europe’s crisis could spell more opportunities for Panama, claims President Martinelli. Country is almost immune, he says

Ricardo Martinelli, the Panamanian president, said in London that Europe’s debt crisis could create opportunities for Panama.

In a speech to investors, Martinelli said: “I hope that the crisis in the Eurozone will not have a severe impact on the world economy.”

But he added: “If things get worse, Panama will have more opportunities because people will be looking for a safe haven.”
