Ricardo Martinelli, the Panamanian president, said in London that Europe’s debt crisis could create opportunities for Panama.
In a speech to investors, Martinelli said: “I hope that the crisis in the Eurozone will not have a severe impact on the world economy.”
But he added: “If things get worse, Panama will have more opportunities because people will be looking for a safe haven.”
