European beers to arrive in Guatemala as a bridgehead for marketing in Central America. Carlsberg, Tubor, Kronenbourg

Nine containers of three brands of European beer are awaiting Customs clearance in Guatemala for a marketing offensive.

They are Danish-based brands Carlsberg and Tubor, as well as Kronenbourg of France. They aim to compete with Guatemalan-brewed premium beers Heineken and Montecarlo.

Eduardo Herrera, Carlsberg’s representative in Central America, said the company aims to import 650,000 liters of beer throughout Central America, though some 60 percent of it will be sold in Guatemala.
