European crisis raises concern in Central America

The economic crisis plaguing many countries in the European Union has forced Central America to look at preventive measures to mitigate the effects in this region.

Sectors which could be affected by the crisis include tourism, migrant remittances, exports and investment.

Monthly economic activity in the region has already begun to slow down since November, in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture and fishing.
