Amid malls, luxury apartments and boutiques, a brand new hospital is under construction in an upscale Guatemala City.

The owner is the nation’s former health minister, Jorge Alejandro Villavicencio Álvarez.

Villavicencio was fired by the nation’s president amid an alleged scandal of corruption in medical supplies.
