Exports from El Salvador’s free zones grew in volume by 22.3 percent and value by 10.9 percent in the first eight months of the year, compared with the same period of 2010.
The result have lifted the spirits of the sector, which now expects at least a similar growth rate through the end of the year.
Exports of the free zones through August came to $822 million, an increase of $81 million compared with the same month of last year.
