Fast-food competition is heating up in Costa Rica as Smashburger joins the fray

Competition among fast-food chains in Costa Rica is growing as Smashburger of the US is the newest arrival.

At the same time, Carl's Jr has announced plans to open 25 restaurants in Costa Rica.

In all Smashburger, Carl's Jr, McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King plan to invest $6 million this year in the country.
