Fifteen companies show interest in contracts for oil exploration in Guatemala

Some 15 international companies showed interest in four new areas for the exploration and production of oil in Guatemala.
Executives of the companies took part in a workshop on the areas, which cover 450,000 hectares in northern Guatemala.
Each of the areas is reckoned to have reserves of some 290 million barrels of crude on average.
