First gates arrive for Panama Canal expansion

The first four gates for the new set of locks in the Panama Canal arrived yesterday.

"This is an exciting moment for the Panama Canal, the arrival of the new gates marks a great progress for this engineering project," Panama Canal Administrator Jorge Quijano said.

The Panama Canal expansion project is 62 percent complete.
