First Starbucks to open in Costa Rica in two weeks
Wednesday, June 6, 2012
Residents in Costa Rica can sip Starbucks coffee for the first time on June 20.
The famous US coffee chain announced it would open its first store in two weeks at the Plaza Avenida Escazú, southwest of San José.
Starbucks has locations in 55 countries, including multiple locations in El Salvador and Guatemala. However, the coffee giant has not yet announced plans for another store in Costa Rica. Some market analysts have wondered whether Starbucks can compete in a culture that already thrives on cheap, locally grown coffee.
