Fitch sees stable outlook for insurance in Mexico

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Fitch Ratings, which has retained its stable outlook for Mexico’s insurance sector, has released a special report on Mexico.

The ratings agency said that the domestic insurance sector saw its combined ratio improve to 101 percent in September 2012, the industry average over the last three years being 105 percent.

The recovery was mainly driven by an 11 percent growth in annual premiums in real terms and a reduction in net loss ratio to 69.5 percent, down from 72 percent in September 2011.
