Ford highlights Mexico's booming carmaking sector

Ford is poised to give Mexico’s carmaking sector a fresh boost today with the announcement of $2.5 billionn in manufacturing investments, further burnishing the reputation of the nation as a rising automotive powerhouse.
Michigan-based Ford is planning to spend $1.3 billion expanding an engine factory in the northern state of Chihuahua and $1.2 billion on a new gearbox plant in the central state of Guanajuato.
