Ford says electric model will be 'pride of Mexico'

Ford México is preparing to launch production of an electric vehicle "and we're very proud to say it will be made in Mexico," announced the company chief executive, Héctor Pérez.

Early next year the Fiesta production line will be closed, so giving way to output of the new vehicle that is expected to come on stream in 2020.

By August preparations for the new production line are to begin. So far nobody in Ford has mentioned a name for the new vehicle.
