Foreign investment in Panama keeps growing fast

Flows of direct foreign investment grew by 21.4 percent in Panama last year compared with 2017, according to the national statistics institute, INEC.

Last year net foreign direct investment was $5.5 billion, an annual increase koi $980 million, boosted by new projects in mining, trade and communications.

Last year, Panama's economy grew by 3.7 percent, down from 5.4 percent the previous year. Growth was mainly in the services sector, La Estrella reports in Spanish.
