Foreign investment in Panama surges by 20 percent

Foreign direct investment in Panama was $746 million in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.
The increase is particularly significant in view of the 2009 figure, that came to only $389 million.
The sectors that contributed most to the growth were food-processing and the construction of hotels.
