Foreign investment surges by 33 percent in Panama

Panama received $2.36 billion in foreign direct investment last year, an increase of 33 percent.
Real estate, hotels and free-zone investments led the way in attracting foreign capital.
Trade minister Roberto Henríquez said: “Companies are recognizing the growing importance of our country for their business interests.”
