Gambling contributes $2.9 billion to Panama

Gambling and games of chance generated $2.96 billion for the Panamanian economy last year.
The largest earner were slot machines, generating $1.97 billion, 15 percent more than 2012.
The gambling sector's popularity is increasing after a 2010 legislation that allows gambling and slot machine businesses to be opened in residential areas.
