Gas Natural selling Guatemala retail business

Spanish utility Gas Natural is selling its power retail assets in Guatemala,  although the company said nothing has been signed.

Gas Natural, which supplies 1.4 million people with electricity in the country and is the largest gas supplier in Latin America overall, has not ruled out rotating its assets in the region.

Website Elconfidencial.com reported that Gas Natural has sold the Guatemala business to UK private equity group Actis for $500 million after threats to its executives and an increasing climate of violence in the country.
