Gasoline prices set $5 all-time record per gallon in Honduras

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Honduran motorists from today will have to pay 93.14 lempiras, almost $5, per gallon to fill up their tanks with super-grade gasoline.

The price is the highest ever recorded in the country. The previous high was set in June 2008 at 92.50 lempiras.

The government’s formula for fixing gasoline prices is based on long-term forecasts of international oil prices.
