German developer completes Costa Rica wind farm

German renewable energy developer Juwi Energias Renovables has completed construction of the 15.3 megawatt Eólico Valle Central wind farm in Costa Rica.

The farm employs 17 turbines each with a 900 kilowatt capacity and is located 1,800 meters above sea level near the capital of city of San Jose.

The wind farm advances the Central American country's plans to generate 100 percent renewable energy by 2021 and will be inaugurated by President Laura Chinchilla on 13 December 2012.
