Gildan shutters big plant in Honduras

Without any warning the Canadian-owned Gildan garment factory in Honduras announced its closure.

The workforce of more than 1,000 was told to report immediately to plants of other companies in the San Pedro Sula region that have excess space. Gildan said displaced workers will be compensated for travel and other expenses, La Prensa reports in Spanish.
