Global textile chiefs to gather in Honduras

The Apparel Summit of the Americas, a Western Hemisphere summit for the textile industry is to be held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, from November 27 to 29.

These attending the event will be senior executives of such major companies as Fruit of the Loom, Macy's, Target, Gildan, Walmart and Coats.

Honduras has a major industry of maquiladoras (in-bond plants) that posted a $630 million surplus in the first half of the year, according to the central bank.
