Gloomy outlook for banana output in Honduras

The forecast for the banana industry in Honduras is not encouraging. The central bank reports exports of bananas in January were $33.9 million, down by $1.6 million from the same month of last year.

This decrease is the result of a 17.4 percent decline in demand in the international market, despite a 15.5 percent increase in banana prices.
