GNC closes 33 stores in Costa Rica

General Nutrition Corporation, GNC, an American company focused on the retail of health and nutrition products, has temporarily closed its 33 stores in Costa Rica.

The decision came after a dispute with the country's Health Ministry.

GNC Costa Rica president Haydeé Mendiola said the decision was made after the company failed to renew sanitary permits on several of its products, due to regulatory changes by the Health Ministry.
