GNC mulls quitting Costa Rica over dispute

U.S.-based General Nutrition Corporation said it will close down its operations in Costa Rica if the country's Health Ministry fails to offer a solution concerning sanitary regulations.

The company's 33 Costa Rica stores were closed after the Health Ministry confiscated products it said didn't comply with new regulations.

The Ministry offered to reach an agreement this week in order to prevent the company leaving, which would affect some 200 jobs.
