Tuesday, September 14, 2010

The government of Honduras asked the nation’s Parliament to consider a 2011 budget of just over $7 billion, some 9.3 percent more than this year.

The Honduran Parliament normally approves the budget during extraordinary sessions in December. Sometimes it leaves it till the beginning of the following year.

The central government is expected to spend 56.8 percent of the 2011 budget. The public-sector deficit will be cut to 3.3 percent from 4.5 percent this year.
