Grand Hotel Panama brings life to walled city

Friday, September 30, 2011

The dilapidated building of the former Club Unión in Panama City’s old quarter, the Casco Antiguo, will be given a $40 million makeover as the Grand Hotel Panama.

The construction will keep faith with the architectural style on the old walled city. The hotel will have 160 rooms, all with a view on the bay.

The project is being promoted by two Americans, Paul Stallings, owner of New York’s Hotel On Rivington, and James Avery, principal of Aldwich Capital Partners.
