Green beans mean new coffee culture for region

Top-quality coffee producer Costa Rica is importing green coffee for the first time in its history to satisfy domestic demand, a trend seen spreading across Central America as locals drink more and more coffee.
Traditionally, coffee-growing countries in Central America shipped their best beans abroad, leaving the lowest quality at home where sugary instant coffee was most popular.
But as incomes rise in some sectors of society, a new cafe-appreciating culture is growing.
