Growth in volume and prices boost Honduras melon exports to record $50 million

The melon industry in Honduras closed the 2010-2011 harvest with record numbers.

Exports earned $50.6 million, the highest ever, boosted by higher prices and increased volume, mainly to Europe.

A Central American melon and watermelon congress is being prepared for July in San Pedro Sula.
