Grupo Q rides crest of wave in regional auto sales

Automobile distributor Grupo Q, from El Salvador, is planning to invest some $15 million to expand its business throughout Central America.

According to the company's operations manager, Federico Quirós, Grupo Q controls 18 percent of the regional car sales market.

The most popular cars in the region, according to Quirós, are Nissan's Frontier and Navara pick-up trucks, as well as Captiva, Qashqai and CX5 in the SUV category.
