Guatemala and Trinidad to sign four trade accords

Monday, August 27, 2012

Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago are expected to sign four agreements by December 21 this year.

The four agreements comprise a reciprocal protection of investments agreement, a partial scope agreement, and agreements on tourism and culture.

"I think that Trinidad and Tobago and Guatemala have very complementary economies," said Guisela Godínez, Ambassador of Guatemala.

The Guatemalan envoy said her country "has very good agriculture companies" including producers of sugar, edible oils and corn. Trinidad and Tobago currently imports these products from other countries.
