Guatemala declares emergency against coffee rust

Guatemala declared state of emergency due to the coffee rust fungus, which has swept 70 percent of the country's coffee harvest.

President Otto Pérez announced a $14 million project designed to support coffee growers.

The money will be used by some 60,000 farmers to buy pesticides and for training in fighting against the fungus.
