Guatemala defies mining companies over reform

Despite mining companies saying they would refuse to invest in Guatemala due to a proposed law reform, the government of Guatemala announced it will go ahead with its plan.
The reform states that the Government will hold a 40 percent share on all new mining and oil projects.
The country's mining chamber opposes the reform, saying it will affect mining development in the country and it has asked the government to scrap the plan.
