Guatemala exports $290 million in cosmetics a year

Guatemala's cosmetics industry exported 6 percent more during 2012, totaling $290 million, according to the country's exports association, Agexport.

The figure places Guatemala as Central America's top cosmetics exporter, and the country hopes to grow further during 2013 by going into new markets such as the Dominican Republic, said Agexport.

Central American countries were the main buyers, accounting for 86 percent of the total.
