Guatemala gets a fast start in race to new remittances record

Guatemala received almost $9 billion last year in remittances from its emigrants in the United States, but that could increase this year, according to the figures on the first month figures.

Remittances for January increased by 5.6 percent year on year to $634 million for the month.
