Guatemala grew 3.6 percent in third quarter 2013

Thursday, January 9, 2014

Guatemala's economy grew 3.6 percent from July to September last year, the central bank said.

Stronger consumer spending and capital goods investment helped push growth, the bank said.

Mining was the only sector to report a drop, with 1.3 percent less than in the same period in 2012.
